The Connecticut Sun and Indiana Fever meet Friday in WNBA action at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Let’s preview this game and give out a pick and prediction.

Connecticut Sun Betting Preview

The Connecticut Sun made the WNBA Finals last year and return majority of last year's key contributors outside of Jonquel Jones, Courtney Williams and Jasmine Thomas. Brionna Jones, DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas will continue to do the heavy lifting for the Sun, and the additions of Alexis Morris and Ashten Prechtel will inject some youth into this roster. There’s some production to replace, but the Sun are still in a great position on paper, and them potentially making the finals for the third time in 5 years should surprise nobody.

Indiana Fever Betting Preview

The Indiana Fever have won 6 or fewer games in each of the last 3 seasons, but there’s reason for excitement with the addition of Aliyah Boston. It will take more than Boston for the Fever to climb out of the basement, but she’s a franchise changing player at both ends of the floor and is an excellent start. Indiana also has South Carolina teammate Victaria Saxton, so there’s chemistry already in the locker room. The Fever returns their top-3 scorers from last season in Kelsey Mitchell, NaLyssa Smith and Victoria Vivians. It's a work in progress, but the Fever is in a better position tan they were a year ago.

Trends

The Sun are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 road games and 17-6 ATS in their last 23 games overall. The Fever are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 8-17-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The under is 8-2 in Sun last 10 overall. The under is 4-1 in Fever last 5 home games. The Sun are 14-6 ATS in the last 20 meetings.

Randy’s Pick

The Connecticut Sun should be favored, and a comfortable win on the road would surprise nobody. However, this is the first game of the season for both teams, and it could be a feeling out process. Also, there should be energy in the building with Boston and others on the squad. There's reason to be excited about the Fever for once, and that could lead to some surprising results. Give me the Fever and any potential points.
