Purdue vs Notre Dame Prediction 9-14-24 College Football Picks

In this article, we will formulate a Purdue vs Notre Dame prediction for this College Football game on Saturday, September 14th at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this Week 3 matchup.

Purdue Boilermakers Betting Preview

The Purdue Boilermakers are 1-0 this year after they defeated Indiana State by a score of 49-0 in week one. Purdue led 21-0 at halftime and they were able to add 28 points in the second half to cruise to the victory. The Boilermakers outgained Indiana State by a total of 583-154, turned the ball over once, and went 7-12 on third down in the game. Hudson Card threw for 273 yards and four touchdowns, while Devin Mockobee rushed for 89 yards on 11 carries.

Purdue was able to get a very easy win in their first game of the season, but they had a bye last week, so this is the first real competition they will face. The Boilermakers need to get off to a fast start, as Notre Dame is still reeling after their upset loss last week. Purdue will take on Oregon State after this one.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish Betting Preview

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 1-1 this season after they lost to NIU by a score of 16-14 last week. Notre Dame took a 14-13 lead in the third quarter, but they allowed the game-winning field goal with about 30 seconds left in the fourth. The Fighting Irish did attempt a long field goal at the end of the game, but it was blocked. Notre Dame was outgained by a total of 388-286, turned the ball over two times, and went 3-10 on third down in the loss. Riley Leonard threw for 163 yards and two interceptions, while Jeremiyah Love rushed for 79 yards and one score on 11 carries.

Notre Dame defeated Texas A&M on the road by a score of 23-13 in week one, but they obviously were unable to keep that momentum in week two. The Notre Dame offense has scored 18.5 points per game with 160.5 passing yards and 160.5 rushing yards per game, while the defense has allowed 14.5 points per game this season. The Fighting Irish have gone 22.7% on third down and 1-2 on fourth down so far this season. Riley Leonard has completed 61.3% of his passes for 321 yards and two interceptions, while Jeremiyah Love has rushed for 170 yards and two scores.

Purdue vs Notre Dame Prediction

Notre Dame comes into this matchup trying to bounce back from that horrific loss last week at home, while Purdue is looking to start fast after their bye week. The Boilermakers cruised to their week one victory, but this will be a much more difficult opponent. Notre Dame’s defense played decently well last week, but their offense only managed 14 points against NIU. I think the Fighting Irish could have trouble shaking off last week’s result, especially being on the road, so I like Purdue with the points here.
