Atlanta Braves vs Detroit Tigers Prediction 6-19-24 Picks

The Detroit Tigers and the Atlanta Braves meet Wednesday in MLB action from Truist Park. Here’s an Atlanta Braves vs Detroit Tigers prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

The Tigers played the Houston Astros in their weekend series. Detroit only won one of those games, a 13-5 result on Saturday. Following a 2-1 loss to the Braves in the opener of this set, on Tuesday the Tigers took a tough loss 2-1. Casey Mize went 4.0 innings in the start with two earned on five hits and zero walks.

In the starter role for the finale the Tigers will send out Tarik Skubal. This year Skubal is 8-2 with a 2.20 ERA and 98 Ks in 86.0 innings over 14 starts. Skubal is 31-29 with a 3.56 ERA in 89 career games (86 starts).

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

Over on the Braves’ side, they took on the Tampa Bay Rays in their last series. Atlanta won 7-3 and 9-2 in the first two installments of that set before an 8-6 Sunday loss. In game two versus the Tigers, the Braves didn’t score after the first inning but still pulled off the victory. Starter Spencer Schwellenbach finished with 6.0 innings, one earned, three hits and two walks.

It’ll be Reynaldo Lopez in the starting pitcher slot for the Braves on Wednesday. This season Lopez is 4-2 with a 1.69 ERA and 70 Ks in 69.1 innings across his 12 starts. In his career Lopez is 43-51 with a 4.07 ERA in 253 games (109 starts).

Atlanta Braves vs Detroit Tigers Prediction

I’ll stick with the Braves. Lopez pitching well lately. In his last three starts he’s got three earned runs total in 18.0 innings on 12 hits and four walks. Lopez is 2-0 in that trio. As for Skubal, he’s coming off a loss with four earned in 6.1 innings versus Houston but had just two earned in 12.2 innings prior to that.

On Tuesday the Braves didn’t have that great of an offensive evening with just five team hits. The good news is that the pitching staff (Schwellenbach and three relievers) had a stellar group outing. I like Atlanta to keep it rolling in the finale.
