Baltimore Orioles vs Kansas City Royals Prediction 4-3-24 Picks

The Kansas City Royals and the Baltimore Orioles meet Wednesday in MLB action from Oriole Park. Here’s a Royals vs Orioles prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game. We will examine:

Kansas City Royals Betting Preview

The Royals took one game from the Twins over the weekend, then fell to 1-3 with a loss to Baltimore 6-4 on Monday. In game two versus the Orioles, Kansas City posted three runs in the second inning and held on for a 4-1 victory. Maikel Garcia had three RBI and two hits, while Nick Loftin had two hits, two runs and one RBI in the win.

In the Wednesday starter role, the Royals will send out Cole Ragans. Last year Ragans went 7-5 with a 3.47 ERA in 29 games (12 starts) alongside 113 Ks in 96.0 innings. In his lone start so far during 2024, Ragans took a loss with two earned in 6.0 innings on five hits and three walks.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

Over on the Orioles’ side, they were able to take two of three versus the Angels in their opening weekend before Monday’s win over Kansas City. On Tuesday the Orioles could only muster three team hits. Colton Cowser put up two of them with the lone RBI. Starter Cole Irvin went 5.0 innings with four earned on seven hits and two walks.

It’ll be Corbin Burnes on the mound for the Orioles on Wednesday. In his 32 starts last year Burnes went 10-8 with a 3.39 ERA and 200 strikeouts in 193.2 frames. Burnes bagged a win in his first start of the year with one earned on one hit with 11 Ks in 6.0 innings.

Royals vs Orioles Prediction

I’ll stay with Baltimore in this one. Burnes had a great outing in his 2024 debut back on Thursday, posting just one blemish in the first inning against the Angels. Baltimore backed up Burnes well in that one with 10 team hits and 11 runs. On Tuesday the O’s had a pretty miserable evening on both sides. Baltimore couldn’t get anything going on offense outside of Cowser, and Irvin had a pretty rough start. The good news is that the bullpen was great on one hit, one walk, zero earned and six Ks in 4.0 innings. The Orioles are a better team than they looked to be on Tuesday, and I like a return to form in the rubber match Wednesday.
