The Atlanta Braves will send out Spencer Schwellenbach for the start here. Schwellenbach is 1-0 with a 0.45 ERA and 19 strikeouts this season. This will be Schwellenbach’s second career start against the Blue Jays. Kevin Gausman will get the nod for the Jays here, and Gausman is 1-1 with a 2.33 ERA and 14 strikeouts this season. In his career, Gausman is 0-1 with a 2.29 ERA and 12 strikeouts against the Braves.

Austin Riley leads the Braves with 17 hits, including a team-high 4 doubles, but also has the dubious distinction of leading Atlanta with 21 strikeouts so far this season. Blue Jays vs Braves Prediction

I’m looking at the Braves here. I get the case to be made for Toronto, given that the Braves still have dug themselves into a pretty big hole to start the year and have struggled with consistency since then. However, the Braves have the edge in starting pitching in my opinion, and I think that teams are starting to figure out Gausman’s signature splitter. The strikeouts just have not been there for Gausman in a lot of his recent outings. I think that the Blue Jays will find something in the finale on Wednesday, but I think Schwellenbach will get the better of Toronto here. Give me the Braves in this one.
