Boston Red Sox vs Chicago White Sox Prediction 9-7-24 MLB Picks

The Chicago White Sox and the Boston Red Sox meet Saturday in MLB action from Fenway Park. Here’s a Boston Red Sox vs Chicago White Sox prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Red Sox vs White Sox pick.

Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

Chicago played the Baltimore Orioles in their early-week set. The White Sox lost the first pair before a much-needed win 8-1 in the finale. In the Friday opener of the Laundry Series versus Boston, the White Sox took a 3-1 loss. Starter Davis Martin finished with 6.0 innings and one earned run.

In the starter slot for the White Sox on Saturday will be Garrett Crochet. So far Crochet is 6-10 with a 3.61 ERA in 28 starts. Crochet is 9-17 with a 3.29 ERA in 100 games (28 starts) over his career.

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

Over on the Red Sox’ side, they played the New York Mets in their last series. Boston lost all three of those matchups 4-1, 7-2, and 8-3. In Friday’s game, the Red Sox were out-hit 6-5 in the win. Nick Pivetta logged 6.0 innings and one earned run in the start.

Cooper Criswell will start for the Red Sox on Saturday. This year Criswell is 5-4 with a 4.14 ERA in 22 games (16 starts). Over 34 career games (18 starts) Criswell is 6-6 with a 4.69 ERA.

Boston Red Sox vs Chicago White Sox Prediction

I’ll stick with Boston. Not touching it, though. Criswell has given up just two earned runs over his last three appearances in 12.0 combined innings. He hasn’t gone past 4.2 frames in any of those, though. As for Crochet, he’s coming off a loss to the Mets with 3.1 innings and one earned run.

On Friday the Red Sox had a couple of good innings and powered out the win, thanks in part to Ceddane Rafaela. The bullpen was great too, notching 3.0 innings, no earned, one hit, no walks, and one K. I’d imagine the Red Sox will keep it going in round two of the weekend Laundry Series.
