Boston Red Sox vs NY Yankees Prediction 6-16-24 Picks

The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox meet Sunday in MLB action from Fenway Park. Here’s a Boston Red Sox vs NY Yankees Prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

New York Yankees Betting Preview

The Yankees played the Kansas City Royals in their last series. New York did well in that one, winning the first three games before a 4-3 loss on Thursday halted the sweep. After an 8-1 win over the Red Sox on Friday, in game two the Yankees took an 8-4 loss. Starter Carlos Rodon had a rough night with five earned on seven hits and three walks in 5.0 innings.

For the starter role in the finale matchup the Yankees will send out Marcus Stroman. This year Stroman is 6-2 with a 2.82 ERA and 58 Ks in 79.2 innings over 14 starts. Stroman is 83-78 with a 3.60 ERA in 245 career games (237 starts).

Over on the Red Sox’ side, they took on the Philadelphia Phillies this week. Boston lost 4-1 in the Tuesday matchup but came back for wins 8-6 and 9-3 in the remaining pair to take the series. On Saturday the Red Sox managed 12 team hits in the victory. Cooper Criswell lasted 4.0 innings in the start with two earned on three hits and two walks.

It’ll be Kutter Crawford in the starting pitcher role for the Red Sox on Sunday. This year Crawford is 2-6 with a 3.47 ERA and 79 Ks in 80.1 innings over 14 starts. Crawford is 11-21 with a 4.39 ERA in 67 career games (50 starts).

Boston Red Sox vs NY Yankees Prediction

I’ll just stay with the Yankees here. Stroman had a bit of trouble back on June 6 versus the Twins, giving up five earned on six hits and two walks in 4.2 innings during a no-decision. In two of his last three starts however Stroman is 2-0 with one earned run in 13.0 combined innings. As for Crawford, he’s 0-3 in his last trio with 11 earned in 18.0 innings.

On Saturday the Yankees saw a rough outing from Rodon and the relievers, so they were quickly in the hole. If Stroman can hold it together on Sunday the offense should be able to help out.
