Over on the Reds’ side, they played the Chicago Cubs over the weekend. Cincinnati won the first three games of that set 8-4, 3-2 and 4-3 before a 4-2 loss in the finale. In the Tuesday matchup the Reds gave up three runs in the third inning. Brent Suter put up 1.0 innings in the opener role with one hit, no earned, no walks and zero Ks.

It’ll be Nick Lodolo in the starting pitcher role for the Reds on Wednesday. This year Lodolo is 6-2 with a 2.92 ERA and 56 Ks in 52.1 innings over nine starts. Lodolo is 12-10 with a 3.93 ERA in 35 career starts.

Cincinnati Reds vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

I’ll stay with the Reds. Lodolo should post a quality start here; he’s been doing a solid job on the mound lately. Over his last three starts Lodolo is 3-0 with four earned in 17.1 innings total. As for Bibee, he’s given up six earned runs in 17.1 innings over his last three starts. Bibee is 2-0 in that time.

On Tuesday the Reds had one particularly bad inning and no one outside of Steven Kwan and Josh Naylor helped much offensively. That pair had a combined five hits, two runs and five RBI. Cincinnati will probably need some more offense Wednesday if they’re going to compete.
