Detroit Tigers vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction 5-25-24 Picks

The Toronto Blue Jays and the Detroit Tigers meet Saturday in MLB action from Comerica Park. Here’s a Detroit Tigers vs Toronto Blue Jays prediction. This will be the third installment in a four-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

The Blue Jays took on the Chicago White Sox in their last series. Toronto lost 5-0 in game two of that set, but won the other pair 9-3 and 9-2. After a 9-1 blowout win over Chicago on Thursday, in game two the Jays posted 10 hits in a 6-2 loss. Starter Alek Manoah put up 4.2 innings with four earned on five hits and two walks.

In the starter slot for the Saturday matchup, the Jays will send out Jose Berrios. This year Berrios is 5-3 with a 2.98 ERA and 48 Ks in 60.1 innings over 10 starts. Berrios is 88-69 with a 4.09 ERA in 222 games (221 starts).

Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Tigers’ side, they played the Kansas City Royals this week. Detroit took a three-game sweep in that one, falling 8-3, 10-3 and 8-3. After their fifth straight loss in game one, on Friday the Tigers scored three runs in the fourth inning on the way to seven hits. Kenta Maeda lasted 5.0 clean frames in the start with four hits and no walks.
As starter for the Saturday matchup the Tigers will go with Reese Olson. This year Olson is still winless at 0-5 with a 2.16 ERA in nine starts. He’s got 43 Ks in 50.0 innings. Olson is 5-12 with a 3.40 career ERA in 30 games (27 starts).

Detroit Tigers vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’ll probably just stay with the Jays. Berrios had a bad start back on May 7 versus the Phillies, taking a loss with 3.2 innings and eight earned runs. He’s been better since then, though. In his last two starts combined, Berrios is 1-0 with five earned in 13.0 innings on 11 hits and three walks total.

In the Friday game the Blue Jays got a pretty good outing from the bullpen overall (3.1 innings; no earned; two hits; two walks; two Ks) after Manoah’s sketchy finish. The offense couldn’t do anything with the 10 team hits, though. I like Toronto to come back with a better effort on Saturday.
