Starting Pitching Matchup

The Miami Marlins will trot out Edward Cabrera here and Cabrera is 1-1 with a 6.05 ERA and 30 strikeouts this season. This will be Cabrera’s second career start against the Dodgers. Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start this one for the Dodgers and is 3-1 with a 2.91 ERA and 42 strikeouts this season. This will be Yamamoto’s first career start against Miami.

Miami Marlins Recap

The Miami Marlins will be looking to rebound after ending up with a 6-3 loss at the hands of the Dodgers in Monday’s series opener. All of the runs were scored in the first three innings, but the Marlins ended up on the wrong end of the big innings and couldn’t rally over the final six innings, taking the loss after their series loss to the Oakland A’s over the weekend.

Marlins Continue To Have Issues At The Dish

Bryan De La Cruz has 39 hits with 8 doubles as well as a team-high 6 home runs and 19 RBIs, while also owning the dubious distinction of leading Miami with 40 strikeouts this season. Jazz Chisholm Jr. also leads the Fish with 19 RBIs and 8 stolen bases as well so far this season.

Los Angeles Dodgers Recap

The Los Angeles Dodgers come into this one looking to build on their series-opening win over the Fish, picking up where they left off after an impressive sweep of the Braves as well as series wins over Arizona and the Blue Jays the week prior.

Dodgers Continue To Flex Muscle At The Plate

Shohei Ohtani leads the Dodgers with 54 hits including a team-high 11 home runs, 14 doubles and 27 RBIs with a .370 batting average while Mookie Betts has 52 hits with 10 doubles, 2 triples, 6 homers and 27 RBIs of his own. LA Dodgers vs Miami Marlins Prediction

I’m on the Dodgers here. Yamamoto’s been decent and while I’m not sure if I’m rushing to bet him at this price, I just can’t trust this lacklustre Marlins offense to really do anything to keep themselves in this game. The Dodgers are the better team by a mile and even if they didn’t have a pitching edge at all, the bats would be more than enough for this team to get by. I think this is just a tough series for the Marlins to be in, and I think the Dodgers run roughshod on them at the plate once again here. Give me the Dodgers big.
