The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Milwaukee Brewers meet Friday in MLB action from American Family Field. Here’s a Milwaukee Brewers vs Arizona Diamondbacks prediction. This will be the second installment in a four-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Brewers vs Diamondbacks pick.

Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview

Arizona played a series versus the Colorado Rockies this week. The Diamondbacks lost the first two games 3-2 and 8-2, then in the finale Arizona powered out the win 9-4. On Thursday versus the Brewers, Arizona scored three runs in the fifth inning during a 5-1 win. Brandon Pfaadt was great in the start with 7.0 innings, one earned, and 12 Ks.

As a starter for Friday’s game, the Diamondbacks will send out Zac Gallen. So far Gallen is 12-6 with a 3.61 ERA in 26 starts. Over his career, Gallen is 51-37 with a 3.28 ERA in 141 starts.

Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview

Over on the Brewers’ side, they took on the Philadelphia Phillies in their last set. After a split in the first two games, 6-2 (win) and 5-1 (loss), in the rubber match the Brewers took a 2-1 victory. On Thursday, Milwaukee only managed two team hits in the rough loss. Tobias Myers made the start, lasting 4.0 innings with one earned.

In the starter slot on Friday, the Brewers are going with Colin Rea. So far, Rea is 12-5 with a 4.14 ERA in 29 games (25 starts). Rea is 26-19 with a 4.52 ERA in 91 career games (74 starts).

Milwaukee Brewers vs Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction

I’ll try Arizona here. Gallen didn’t have the greatest start in his most recent outing versus the Brewers on September 15, giving up three earned on six hits and two walks in 5.0 innings for a no-decision. Prior to that, however, Gallen posted zero earned over 11.0 innings during a pair of wins.

On Thursday, the Diamondbacks had a pretty smooth win thanks to a couple of big innings and a nice effort from the pitching staff. The pen was pretty much perfect behind Pfaadt, so there wasn’t much to complain about. I like Arizona to carry the momentum into Friday’s game.
