The Oakland Athletics and the Minnesota Twins meet Sunday in MLB doubleheader action from Target Field. Here’s a Minnesota Twins vs Oakland Athletics prediction. These will be the third and final installments in a four-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the games.

Oakland Athletics Betting Preview

The A’s played the San Diego Padres in their early-week series and things didn’t go very well. Oakland lost all three of those games 6-1, 4-3 and 5-4 for a sweep. After two more losses to the Twins 6-2 and 6-5, on Saturday the Athletics were rained out. That matchup will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Sunday.

It’ll be JP Sears in the game one starting pitcher role for the A’s on Sunday. So far this year Sears is 4-5 with a 4.02 ERA in 14 starts. For game two it’ll be Joey Estes. This year Estes is 2-2 with a 4.78 ERA and 28 Ks.

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

Over on the Twins’ side, they took on the Colorado Rockies in their last series. Minnesota took a 5-4 loss on Tuesday but won the other pair of games 5-0 and 17-9. The Twins scored a combined 12 runs over the first two games of the weekend series. Max Kepler contributed three hits, a homer and four RBI in the Friday win.

For game one starter duties the Twins are turning to Bailey Ober. So far Ober is 5-4 with a 5.13 ERA and 65 Ks. It’ll be Chris Paddack in the game two starting pitcher role for the Twins on Sunday. This year Paddack is 5-3 with a 4.79 ERA in 13 starts. Paddack has 67 Ks in 71.1 innings.

Minnesota Twins vs Oakland Athletics Prediction

I’ll likley take a stab on the A’s in game one. Probably not touching it, though. Oakland should get a decent start from Sears. Over his last three starts combined Sears has nine earned runs in 18.0 innings of work but hasn’t recorded a victory. Ober has been pretty rocky over his last three. In that time Ober is 0-2 with 13 earned over 14.2 innings of work total.

In game two I’ll probably lean toward the A’s as well. Estes has given up four earned runs over 16.1 innings over his last three starts. He’s gone 1-1 in that trio. As for Paddack, he’s coming off a win over Colorado with zero earned in 6.1 innings, but had 11 earned runs in his 9.2 innings before that. Both games should be close.
