NY Mets vs LA Dodgers Prediction 5-29-24 Picks

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets meet Wednesday in MLB action from Citi Field. Here’s a NY Mets vs LA Dodgers Prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the games.

Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview

The Dodgers played the Cincinnati Reds in their weekend series. Los Angeles had some troubles in that one, falling in a sweep 9-6, 3-1 and 4-1. In the Tuesday doubleheader versus the Mets, the Dodgers powered out a 5-2 win in game one. In the nightcap Los Angeles kept it up with a 3-0 victory.

In the starter role for the Dodgers on Wednesday it’ll be James Paxton. This year Paxton is 5-0 with a 3.49 ERA in nine starts. He’s got 28 Ks in 49.0 innings. Paxton is 69-38 with a 3.68 ERA in 165 total starts over his career.

New York Mets Betting Preview

Over on the Mets’ side, they took on the San Francisco Giants in their weekend set. New York lost 8-7 in the opener and 7-2 in game two before a 4-3 victory on Sunday. In game one on Tuesday the Mets gave up 11 hits on the way to the loss. In game two New York surrendered another 10 hits in a shutout.

It’ll be David Peterson in the starter slot for the Mets on Wednesday. This will be Peterson’s season debut. In his career Peterson is 18-21 with a 4.51 ERA in 80 games (64 starts) total.

Dodgers vs Mets Injury Notes

The Dodgers will proceed cautiously with 3B Max Muncy’s oblique strain.

Mets SP Kodai Senga (shoulder) may not be able to return from the 60-day Injured List until after the All-Star break.

NY Mets vs LA Dodgers Prediction

I’ll stay with the Dodgers. Paxton does need a good bounce-back after a rough start May 24 versus the Reds, however. In that one, Paxton gave up five earned runs in 4.2 innings on five hits and four walks during a no-decision. Prior to that, Paxton had just three earned over a 12.0-inning span in two starts.

On Tuesday, the Dodgers needed a late outburst of offense (three runs in the 10th) to finish off the extra-innings win in game one. In the nightcap, Los Angeles kept the offense hot as three different players had multiple hits. I like the Dodgers to keep it up in the finale.
