Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

Over the weekend the Twins took on the Detroit Tigers. Minnesota split the first two installments of that set, then on Sunday the Twins rolled to a 5-0 shutout win. Starter Bailey Ober was great with 8.0 innings, one hit, two walks and 11 Ks.

In the starter slot for Monday’s game the Twins are sending out Simeon Woods Richardson. This year Richardson is 3-1 with a 3.27 ERA in 17 starts. Richardson is 3-2 with a 3.59 career ERA in 19 games (18 starts).

New York Mets Betting Preview

Over on the Mets’ side, they played the Atlanta Braves this past weekend. New York won the first pair before a Saturday loss. In the finale the Mets took a 9-2 blowout loss. David Peterson gave up four earned in 5.0 innings as starter.

Jose Quintana will take the starter job for the Mets on Monday. This year Quintana is 5-6 with a 4.02 ERA in 20 starts. Quintana is 97-99 with a 3.76 ERA in 348 career games (322 starts).

NY Mets vs Minnesota Twins Prediction

I’ll stay with the Mets. Quintana does have one bad outing in this last three, a loss to the Rockies with five earned in 5.2 innings. In his other two however, Quintana is 2-0 with just one earned on four hits and six walks.

On Sunday the Mets had a few rough pitching outings. That said, the damage was localized to three innings and Atlanta only mustered eight hits. Still, New York needs a lengthy start from Quintana to take some of the heat off the pen in Monday’s matchup.
