NY Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction 9-25-24 MLB Picks

The Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees meet Wednesday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. Here’s a NY Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Yankees vs Orioles pick.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

The O’s played the Detroit Tigers in their weekend series. Baltimore won 7-1 in the Friday game but lost the next pair. On Tuesday versus the Yankees, the Orioles jumped out to a 2-0 lead and never looked back in a 5-3 win. Dean Kremer put up 5.0 innings in the start with one earned run.

The starter for Wednesday will be Baltimore’s Zach Eflin. This year Eflin is 10-9 with a 3.53 ERA in 27 starts. Eflin is 62-62 with a 4.16 ERA in 185 games (173 starts) over his career.

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they took a sweep over the Oakland Athletics this past weekend, winning 4-2, 10-0 and 7-4. On Tuesday New York had a couple of good innings at the plate but couldn’t keep pace. Clarke Schmidt lasted 5.1 innings as a starter with three earned on four hits and a walk.

It’ll be Nestor Cortes in the start for the Yankees on Wednesday. So far Cortes is 9-10 with a 3.77 ERA in 31 games (30 starts). In 135 career games (86 starts) Cortes is 33-21 with a 3.80 ERA.

NY Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction

I’ll stick with the Yankees. Cortes is doing a solid job over his last three starts. In that trio, he’s 1-0 with 15.1 innings, one earned, seven hits and seven walks combined. As for Eflin, he hasn’t been too bad with six earned over his last 18.1 innings, but he’s gone just 0-2 in that trio.

On Tuesday New York really couldn’t get much going offensively despite a solo homer from Aaron Judge and three hits from Gleyber Torres (with one RBI). The pen wasn’t spectacular either with 3.2 frames, four hits, three walks, and two earned. I like the Yankees to bounce back behind Cortes in game two.
