NY Yankees vs Boston Red Sox Prediction

I’ll stay with Boston. The Sox need a bounce-back effort from Houck, though. In his last start Houck posted seven earned runs in 4.1 innings during a loss to the Padres. Prior to that however, Houck had four earned over 12.1 innings in two starts. As for Cortes, he’s 0-2 with six earned in 11.1 innings over his last pair.

On Thursday the Red Sox offense woke back up in the later innings and secured the tight win. Boston used six different pitchers in that one, with mixed results. On offense the Sox got a big lift from Tyler O’Neill (three hits; two RBI; run) but several guys came up empty. That said, I think Boston keeps it going against a flailing Yankees team in the Friday opener.
