NY Yankees vs Chicago White Sox Prediction 5-18-24 Picks

The Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees meet Saturday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. Here’s a NY Yankees vs Chicago White Sox Prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

The White Sox played the Washington Nationals in their last series. Chicago lost the opener of that set 6-3, but then came back for wins in the next pair 4-0 and 2-0. On Friday versus the Yankees, the White Sox took a 4-2 loss. Mike Clevinger went 4.2 innings in the start with three earned on five hits and two walks.

In the starting pitcher role for the Saturday game, the Sox will go with Brad Keller. This year in four games (one start) so far Keller is 0-1 with a 2.84 ERA and nine Ks in 12.2 innings. Keller is 38-54 with a 4.24 career ERA in 154 games (115 starts).

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they played the Minnesota Twins this week. New York did well in that one, taking a three-game sweep with victories 5-1, 4-0 and 5-0. In their opener Friday versus the Sox, New York out-hit the Sox 9-8 in the victory. Nestor Cortes put up 7.0 clean frames on five hits and a walk as starter.

It’ll be Luis Gil in the starting pitcher role for the Yankees on Saturday. This year Gil is 4-1 with a 2.51 ERA in eight starts. He’s got 48 Ks in 43.0 total frames. Gil is 5-2 with a 3.07 career ERA over 15 starts at the MLB level.

NY Yankees vs Chicago White Sox Prediction

I’ll stay with the Yankees, but the line’s too thick to mess with. That said, Gil is cruising lately. Over his last three starts, he’s 3-0 with just one earned over a combined 18.1 innings on six hits and seven walks. As for Keller, he’s given up just one earned on five hits and a walk over his last 6.1 innings. Keller didn’t go past 3.1 innings in either of those, however.

On Friday the Yankees scored twice in the fourth inning and held the lead from there. New York got home runs from Giancarlo Stanton (two RBI) and Aaron Judge (three walks) in a pretty solid effort from the top of the lineup. New York should keep rolling Saturday.
