The New York Mets and the Texas Rangers meet Monday in MLB action from Globe Life Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Texas Rangers vs NY Mets Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The New York Mets will send out David Peterson for the start here and Peterson is 2-0 with a 4.32 ERA and 6 strikeouts this season. This will be Peterson’s second career start against the Rangers. The Texas Rangers will send out Jon Gray and Gray is 2-2 with a 2.17 ERA and 63 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against the Mets, Gray is 1-3 with a 6.84 ERA and 33 strikeouts.

New York Mets Recap

The New York Mets come into this one winners of five in a row after another series victory, sweeping the San Diego Padres over the weekend after an 11-6 win in Sunday’s finale. The win gave the Mets another series triumph after knocking off the Marlins this time last week and the Phillies and Nationals before that.

Mets Rolling At The Plate

Starling Marte leads the Mets with 65 hits and a .281 batting average while Pete Alonso has a team-high 15 home runs and 37 RBIs with 17 doubles as well. Francisco Lindor has 17 doubles of his own with 12 home runs and 34 RBIs while Marte also has a team-high 12 stolen bases. Brandon Nimmo has 35 RBIs and 73 strikeouts as well this season.

Texas Rangers Recap

The Texas Rangers come into this one looking to bounce back after being swept by the Seattle Mariners following a 5-0 loss in Sunday’s series finale. The loss meant that the Rangers would be unable to follow up their series win over the Los Angeles Dodgers last week.

Rangers Struggling To Find Their Bats

Marcus Semien leads the Rangers with 75 hits along with 14 doubles, 11 home runs and 40 RBIs while Adolis Garcia has 13 home runs and 40 RBIs with 11 doubles as well as 6 stolen bases. Evan Carter also has 5 home runs with 15 RBIs while Jonah Heim has 6 homers and 31 RBIs and Josh Smith also has a team-high 16 doubles. Corey Seager also has a team-high 14 home runs with 33 RBIs of his own this season.

Why the Texas Rangers will win

Texas Rangers vs NY Mets Prediction

I’m on the Mets here. Jon Gray is one of the better options that the Rangers have in their starting rotation, and he’s slightly underrated in my opinion, but the problem is that the Rangers’ batting order behind him looks to be a shell of the team that won the World Series just a few months ago. They can spring the upset against the Dodgers, but realistically, the Dodgers shot themselves in the foot in that series as Texas scored a combined 8 runs in three games in that series. The Mets are rolling right now and are finding ways to win and I think they find another here. Give me the Mets.
