In the Wednesday loss, the Rockies’ Austin Gomber posted 6.0 innings with six earned in the starting role. Ezequiel Tovar added three hits with one run, and Michael Toglia had a homer with two RBI.
In the starting pitcher role for the Rockies on Friday it’ll be Ryan Feltner. In his two starts this year so far Feltner is 0-1 with a 3.27 ERA and 14 Ks in 11.0 innings. Feltner has a 6-15 record in his career with a 5.87 ERA in 34 games (33 starts).
Toronto Blue Jays
Over on the Blue Jays’ side, they took on the Seattle Mariners this week. Toronto was able to win the first pair 5-2 and 5-3 before a 6-1 loss in the finale. The Blue Jays gave up five runs in the top of the 10th inning in the Wednesday loss. Starter Yusei Kikuchi did well on 6.0 innings and one earned run, though.
It’ll be Kevin Gausman in the starter job for the Blue Jays on Friday. Across his two starts this year Gausman is 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA and six Ks in 5.2 innings. Gausman has a career record of 88-92 with a 3.86 ERA in 300 games (261 starts).

I’ll take a stab on the Rockies as a value play. Feltner has been pretty solid in his two starts so far, notching a total of four earned in 11.0 innings. He’s yet to win a game though, so Feltner will need some offensive backup Friday. As for Gausman, he’ll need a good bounce-back effort following a rough loss versus the Yankees with 1.1 innings and five earned runs.
Colorado gave up quite a bit of offense in the Arizona series: 13 runs in three games. That’s going to be a lot to keep pace with if the Rockies continue that trend. Provided the bullpen steps up I think Colorado has a good chance Friday, though.
