Houston Rockets vs Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction 12-6-23 NBA Picks

The Oklahoma City Thunder pay a visit to the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center on Wednesday night. Here’s a Thunder vs Rockets prediction.

Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in fine form as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Mavericks in a 126-120 road win on Saturday. Jalen Williams led the team with 23 points and five assists, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 17 points with nine assists and five steals while Davis Bertans chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Thunder shot 44 percent from the field and a sizzling 20 of 44 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble after they squandered a 24-point lead, but they regrouped and held the Mavericks scoreless in the final 2:17 to escape with the narrow win in the end.

Houston Rockets

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been in a major slump as they’ve lost six of their last eight games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting beaten by the Lakers in a 107-97 road loss on Saturday. Fred VanVleet led the team with 22 points and seven assists, Alperen Sengun added 21 points with 13 rebounds and five assists while Dillon Brooks and Jabari Smith Jr scored 10 points apiece. As a team, the Rockets shot just 40 percent from the field and 11 of 31 from the 3-point line, but this game was over early as they just never recovered after getting dominated by 35-14 in the second quarter. Jalen Green had a night to forget as he scored just 10 points on four of 15 from the field while Sengun shot just eight of 25 from the field.

Thunder vs Rockets prediction

The Rockets are still shorthanded with Victor Oladipo out and they have Jock Landale listed as questionable, while the Thunder are coming into this meeting with a full roster. The Rockets have shown glimpses of their potential this season, but they’re in a rut at the moment while the Thunder are a team on the rise and they are fresh off a win over the Mavericks. The line is short for this one, so I’m definitely going with the Thunder to get the win and cover on the road.
