The Buffalo Bulls will head to Kent State on Tuesday to square off against the Golden Flashes in conference action.
The Kent State Golden Flashes have played really well this season, but despite their strong play the Golden Flashes still trail Akron by two games in the Eastern division of the MAC conference. The Golden Flashes are currently on a six game win streak, and last time out Kent State earned an impressive win against the Ball State Cardinals 76-55. The Golden Flashes have a very nice offense this season as the Golden Flashes are in the top third in the nation, averaging better than 71 points per game.
The Buffalo Bulls are also playing really well this season as Buffalo is 9-2 in conference action and 16-6 overall this season. The Bulls are just one game back of Akron in the East, and one game above their opponent on Tuesday, the Kent State Golden Flashes. The Bulls, like Kent State are on an impressive win streak as well as Buffalo has currently won eight straight heading into Tuesday. Last time out, the Bulls earned a hard fought victory over the Western Michigan Broncos 59-57.
The total has gone over the number in seven of the last ten games for the Golden Flashes, however it should be noted that four of the last five meetings between Kent State and the Bulls have gone under the projected total. The total has also gone under for the Bulls in four of their last five games on the road, and the Bulls are 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five road games against Kent State.
With both the Golden Flashes and the Bulls on impressive win streaks right now, this should be a fun one to watch as something here has to give. I think Kent State has the advantage on Tuesday, if only a slight one. Kent State looks to be the better club overall, and while I like the Bulls to keep things close for awhile, at the end of the day I think the Golden Flashes get the win and cover.
