The UNLV Rebels head to the Daniel-Meyer Colosseum on Tuesday to face off against the TCU Horned Frogs in conference action.
The TCU Horned Frogs have a conference record of just 4-4 on the season at this point, but TCU is still only two games back of the conference leading UNLV Rebels in the Mountain West Standings. The Horned Frogs have just two wins through their last five games, and in their last outing TCU earned a hard fought 75-71 victory over the Colorado State Rams. The Horned Frogs have an offense this season that ranks right in the middle of the national rankings as the Horned Frogs are scoring just over 70 points per game on average.
The UNLV Rebels have played excellent ball this season, and at this point it is fair to say that UNLV is among the top teams in the nation. The Rebels are 6-2 in Mountain West action this season, with an equally impressive 22-4 mark overall. The Rebels have won four out of five heading into Tuesday, and in their last outing UNLV upended conference rival the San Diego State Aztecs 65-63. The Rebels have the 11th ranked offense in the nation as UNLV is scoring a very impressive 79.5 points per game this season.
The TCU Horned Frogs are 0-5 against the spread in their last five games against the Rebels. The Horned Frogs are also just 1-5 against the spread in their last six games at home against UNLV. The Rebels have won seven out of their last eight games on the road at TCU.
Again, taking road favorites in conference action is not always a smart move, but I have to go with the Rebels here. The Horned Frogs have really struggled against UNLV, and with how well the Rebels are playing this year, I expect Tuesday will be no different.
