The Temple Owls pay a visit to Rhode Island on Saturday as the Owls face the Rams in an Atlantic 10 showdown.
The Rhode Island Rams have really struggled this season as the Rams only have five victories with Rhode Island having a record of 5-18 on the year. The Rams, as you may imagine are also struggling within the Atlantic 10 conference as the Rams have a conference record of 2-6. Rhode Island has just two wins in their last five games, but the good thing for the Rams is both those wins have come in their last two outings. The Rams offense is scoring just over 68 points per game on the season and are led by Jamal Wilson who is having a solid season scoring over 16 points per game.
The Temple Owls are playing really good ball this season as Temple has a record of 16-5 overall and are 5-2 in Atlantic 10 play. The Owls are currently on a five game winning streak heading into Saturday's match up with the Rams. The Owls offense is ranked within the top 50 scoring offenses in the nation this season as the Owls are scoring an average of 74.9 points per game. Leading the Owls offense is Ramone Moore who is scoring an impressive 17.8 points per game.
Despite the lackluster offensive performance from the Rams this season, Rhode Island has been involved in some higher scoring games recently as five of the last six games for the Rams have gone over the number. Rhode Island is just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight home games. Rhode Island is also just 3-7 against the spread in their last ten home games against Temple. The total has also gone over for Temple in four of their last six road games.
Normally I find it tough going against the home team in college ball, especially in conference play, but it looks to be the safest play here. The Owls are just simply the better team here and I think we are getting some decent value giving up single digits to a poor Rams team.
