The Anaheim Ducks and the Colorado Avalanche meet in NHL action from the Ball Arena on Sunday.

The Anaheim Ducks will try to snap a three-game losing streak after a 3-1 loss at the hands of Vegas in their last game. Troy Terry leads the Ducks in scoring with 30 points including a team-high 18 goals while Trevor Zegras has 25 points with 8 goals and 17 assists. Sonny Milano and Ryan Getzlaf each have 22 points this season with Getzlaf logging a team-high 20 assists on the year. John Gibson’s seen the bulk of the work in goal for Anaheim and is 11-8-6 with a 2.69 GAA and a .915 save percentage this season.

The Colorado Avalanche will also try to rebound from a 5-2 loss at the hands of Nashville last time out. Nazem Kadri leads the Avs in scoring with 38 points including a team-high 27 assists while Gabriel Landeskog has 27 points and Cale Makar has 26 points with Landeskog logging 9 goals, 18 assists and a +12 plus/minus, while Devon Toews has a team-best +19 plus/minus rating. Makar has 13 goals and 13 assists while Mikko Rantanen has a team-high 14 goals as well as 30 points of his own this season. Darcy Kuemper has gone 13-5 with a 2.77 GAA and a .907 save percentage this season in goal for Colorado.

Anaheim is 21-44 in their last 65 games as an underdog and 6-14 in their last 20 games against the Central division while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 road games. Colorado is 49-21 in their last 70 games overall and 40-13 in their last 53 home games while the over is 4-0-1 in their last 5 games against the Pacific division.

The plus money with the Ducks is tempting considering how solid the Ducks have been against the puck line this season, meaning they’re always giving themselves a reasonable chance to win games regardless of the opponent. However, the Ducks are looking like the old Anaheim Ducks, the ones that struggle to put the puck in the net and that isn’t good against an Avs team that’s firing on all cylinders right now and are starting to get back into the form that looks like a team that many pegged as a cup contender this season. Give me the Avs -1.5 here.
