The Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars meet Thursday in NFL action from EverBank Field.

Miami has stumbled out of the gate at 0-2 this season. The Dolphins dropped their opening game versus the Patriots 21-11, then fell 31-28 in a tight one versus the Bills this past weekend. As for Jacksonville, they’re 1-1 this year so far. The Jaguars beat the Colts 27-20 in Week 1 but then fell to Tennessee in a thriller 33-30. The Dolphins have a core group of young players and an optimistic future, but haven’t been able to rack up the Ws yet. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick tossed three interceptions and just 191 yards in Week 1, while Myles Gaskin led a tepid rush on 40 yards. DeVante Parker was the top receiver there with four catches for 47 yards.

In Week 2 versus the Bills, Miami looked a little better. Fitzpatrick posted 328 yards with two touchdowns in that one, with Mike Gesicki catching eight balls for 130 yards and a score. Gaskin had 46 yards on seven carries there.

Over on the Jaguars’ side, they got a solid effort out of Gardner Minshew in Week 1 with a 19-for-20 line, 173 yards and three scores. James Robinson led the rushers on 62 yards in the win, and Keelan Cole had five catches for 47 yards and a TD in the victory over the Colts.

In the Week 2 game, Minshew went 30-of-45 for 339 yards, three touchdowns and two picks. Robinson posted 102 yards and a TD off 16 carries, and DJ Clark was the top receiver with 84 yards on four grabs.

The Dolphins are 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the AFC and 6-2 ATS in their last eight on grass. Miami is 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall and 7-15 ATS in their last 22 road games.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars are 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the AFC and 4-1 ATS in their last five games on grass. Jacksonville is 2-6 ATS in the last eight games as a favorite and 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a home favorite.

Pick: I’m going Miami here. This one opened up as a pick-em game, and has gone the Jaguars’ way over the last few days. The line will probably inflate some more before kickoff time comes. Granted, it should be a pretty close matchup, and as long as Fitzpatrick doesn’t make too many mistakes I think the Dolphins offense will be able to hang around. I still probably like Jacksonville to win outright, but more likely by a late touchdown or field goal that puts the team ahead by a couple of points. I’d be a more comfortable if the line were a little more permissive (which it likely will become) but Miami is okay to me still.
