The Devils look for their second win in as many nights as they travel from Dallas to Nashville to take on the Predators.
New Jersey will look to build on their overtime victory in Dallas last night as they head to Nashville to face a Predators team that has points in seven of their last 10 contests and are clawing their way towards the final playoff spot in the West. The Devils as mentioned on a number of occasions are a team in a rebuild mode as they are without some of their key pieces from their Cup run two years ago but instead of unloading and building through the draft the Devils brought some pieces in through free agency as well as some veteran leaders to show them the way. Jaromir Jagr is proving he can still play at a high level as he leads the team in points and with the likes of Damian Brunner, Patrik Elias, and Adam Henrique chipping in the Devils aren’t an easy out as many expected them to be. Corey Schneider got the win in Dallas last night so we can expect to see Martin Brodeur here as he goes up against Devan Dubnyk for Nashville.

The Predators are in a very similar circumstance to the Devils but instead of making free agent overhauls they are going through the draft and with Seth Jones in place to take over the void left by Ryan Suter they have one piece already solved. However, the Preds need a heck of a lot more than what they have right now and getting a top end scoring option is something the team has needed for years but perhaps doesn’t fit the mold put in place by head coach Barry Trotz. Nashville is a team I have faded most of the season and while it has come back to bite us a couple times I don’t see it happening here. The Devils are a much better team, are riding high after last night’s victory, and get the Preds who are likely without Shea Weber and that spells disaster. I love the Devils in this spot.
