NY Mets vs Miami Marlins Prediction 6-11-24 Picks

The Miami Marlins and the New York Mets meet Tuesday in MLB action from Citi Field. Here’s a NY Mets vs Miami Marlins Prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Miami Marlins Betting Preview

The Marlins took on the Cleveland Guardians in their weekend series. Miami was able to win Friday’s matchup 3-2, but faltered in the latter games with losses 8-0 and 6-3 to drop the set. In Sunday’s finale, Marlins starter Trevor Rogers finished with 5.0 innings, one earned and four walks.

In the starter role for the Tuesday game the Marlins will send out Jesus Luzardo. This year in his 10 starts Luzardo is 2-5 with a 5.30 ERA and 52 Ks in 56.0 innings. Luzardo is 25-33 with a 4.31 ERA in 103 games (87 starts).

New York Mets Betting Preview

Over on the Mets’ side, they played two games against the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend, traveling all the way over to London for it. New York lost Saturday’s matchup 7-2, but managed to even things up with a 6-5 win in the Sunday game. Jose Quintana left after 3.2 innings and three earned runs in that one.

New York will send out Tylor Megill for the starting role on Tuesday. So far this year Megill is 1-2 with a 3.00 ERA and 24 Ks in 21.0 innings over four starts. Megill is 18-18 with a 4.59 ERA in 62 career games (56 starts).

NY Mets vs Miami Marlins Prediction

I’ll stick with the Mets, but I’m probably not touching this one. Both starters could use a good showing. Megill is coming off four earned runs on seven hits and three walks in 5.0 innings during a win over the Nationals on June 3. In his two starts before that however, Megill had just two earned in 12.0 frames. As for Luzardo, he coughed up nine earned runs in 4.1 innings on nine hits and two walks in his last start. Luzardo is 0-2 in his last pair.

New York was pretty choppy against the Phillies over the weekend, but the good news is that they’ve scored six or more runs in four of the last five games. I like the Mets to keep it going Tuesday.
