The Philadelphia 76ers and the Minnesota Timberwolves collide at the Target Center on Friday night.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past six games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the Bucks in a 123-120 road win on Thursday. Joel Embiid led the team with 42 points, 14 rebounds and five assists, Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris each scored 19 points while Georges Niang chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the 76ers shot 50 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control after exploding for 45 points in the second quarter, but they surrendered a 15-point lead and had to close the game on a 14-7 run in the final 5:06 to escape with the narrow win.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in fine form as they’ve won eight of their past 11 games overall and they will be hoping to stay hot after taking down the Grizzlies in a 119-114 home win last night. D’Angelo Russell led the team with 37 points and nine assists on 13 of 21 shooting, Karl-Anthony Towns added 22 points with 11 rebounds and three blocks while Malik Beasley chipped in with 17 points off the bench. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 46 percent from the field and 16 of 42 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going and fell into an early 15-point deficit, before working their way back into the contest to pip the Grizzlies in the fourth quarter where they closed the final 2:00 on a 7-2 run to escape with the hard-fought win. Anthony Edwards had a night to forget as he scored just five points on one of 11 shooting.

Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games playing on three or more days’ rest. The Timberwolves are 0-4 ATS in their last four games playing on zero days’ rest, 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the under is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings in Minnesota, the 76ers are 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall and the 76ers are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Minnesota.

The big news is that the three-time scoring champion, James Harden is expected to make his debut for the 76ers in this one, so there will surely be plenty of eyes on this game. The Timberwolves are coming into this one with plenty of momentum and they will take plenty of confidence from last night’s gritty win over the Grizzlies, but the 76ers have dominated this matchup as they are 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall and 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Minnesota. You could make an argument for either side here, but I’m leaning towards the 76ers in a close one.
