The Calgary Flames will try to carry the momentum from a solid January finish into February as they take on the Minnesota Wild.
The Minnesota Wild will wrap up a four game road trip in Calgary, but first the Wild will look to get back into the win column. The Wild have been particularly poor on the road this year, which is evidenced by the 10-14-4 road mark on the season. In the last game, a 5-4 loss to the Colorado Avalanche, Zach Parise led the Wild with two goals and two assists, which still was not enough. The Wild had a descent January, but there is no doubt the club is looking forward to getting back on its home ice.

Calgary will wrap up a very successful home stand on Saturday. During the current five game home stand the Flames have gone unbeaten, winning each of the first four contests at the Saddledome. In the most recent game, the Flames ousted the San Jose Sharks. Calgary got out to a 2-0 lead and never looked back in the 4-1 victory. Until recently, the Flames were not performing well at home this season. Even with the recent success, Calgary is just 11-14-3 on its home ice this year.
This will be the second time this season that these two teams have squared off. Back in November the Wild took the Flames out 5-1. The Wild are 5-2 in the last seven meetings with the Flames, but Minnesota does not fare well in Calgary. The Wild are just 10-23-2 over the last 35 games in Calgary. However, I think we may see that trend turn on Saturday. There are plays that I like better, but I lean to a play on the Wild in this game.
