The Line: Denver Nuggets -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Dallas Mavericks travel to the Pepsi Center to take on the Denver Nuggets tonight.
The Mavericks will be looking to put a halt to a two-game skid tonight after getting beaten by the Spurs by 112-106 on Sunday. Dirk Nowitzki led the team with 22 points, Vince Carter added 21 and Monta Ellis had 17 for the Mavs, but it still wasn't enough as they lost to the Spurs for the eighth straight time. The Mavs got to the charity stripe just 14 times where they made nine compared to the Spurs who made 24 of 28 and the Mavs needed more from Shawn Marion who contributed just five points. With the loss, Dallas drops to 36-25 on the season and 17-15 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets have lost 11 of their last 12 and will be looking to snap a six-game skid tonight after losing to the Timberwolves by 132-128 on Monday. Ty Lawson returned from injury and led the way with 31 points and 11 assists, WIlson Chandler added 25 points and Randy Foye had 22, but it still wasn't enough because they just couldn't keep the Wolves off the charity stripe where they made an amazing 52 of 64. Not even a 45-point fourth quarter was enough to get them the win because they were down by 15 after three quarters and left themselves too much to do. With the loss, Denver drops to 25-34 on the season and 14-16 at home.
In ATS trends, the Mavs are 41-16 ATS in their last 57 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games following an ATS win, while the Nuggets are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six home games.
Head to head, the Mavs are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings overall and 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings in Denver.
Given the dominant head to head record, I'll most likely be taking the Mavs to win and cover the spread here, but I'll wait for the official line before giving you my free pick.
The line is finally out and it's the Mavs favored by just 4.5 points so that's where I'm going with this one.
