The Minnesota Timberwolves will be aiming to take a commanding 3-0 series lead after routing the Suns in a 105-93 win in Game 2 on Tuesday. Jaden McDaniels led the team with 25 points on 10 of 17 shooting, Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley each scored 18 points, while Anthony Edwards chipped in with 15 points and eight assists on three of 12 shooting. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 32 from the 3-point line as they wrestled with the Suns early on and trailed going into halftime, before they played great defense to dominate the second half by 55-42 to lead by as many as 19 points at one stage.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns are almost in a must-win situation now after failing to get the job done in the first two games of the series. Devin Booker led the team with 20 points and five assists, Kevin Durant added 18 points, while Bradley Beal chipped in with 14 points and six assists. As a team, the Suns shot 44 percent from the field and eight of 22 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control when they took the narrow lead at halftime, but it was all downhill from that point as the Suns just couldn’t match the Timberwolves the rest of the way. Eric Gordon had a decent game of 15 points in just 23 minutes off the bench, but no other bench player finished in double figures.

The Timberwolves are still shorthanded with Jaylen Clark ruled out, and Kyle Anderson listed as questionable, while the Suns are keeping an eye on Grayson Allen, who is listed as questionable for this one. The Timberwolves well and truly hold all the momentum after two solid wins to start the series, and they didn’t even require a big game from Edwards in Tuesday’s win. It’s now or never for the Suns, who desperately need a win, so while I still have the Timberwolves winning the series, I think the Suns can create hold them off for at least one game at home.
