Real Valladolid is welcoming Deportivo Alaves to Jose Zorrilla in part of round 34 in Spanish LaLiga.

Valladolid has had some solid games as of late, but they haven’t won any of their last 5 games. During this stretch, Valladolid has scored 2 goals, while conceding 3 goals, and they have 3 draws in their last 3 games. Valladolid is in 14th place in the standings with 36 points, only 27 scored goals, and 37 conceded goals, which isn’t bad. In their last LaLiga games against Levante at home, Valladolid has had 46% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 8 corner kicks, and 82% of accurate passes. This was a tough and pretty equal game, but Valladolid was the one that had the opportunity to win a game. Valladolid was awarded a penalty kick in the very last minute of the game, but Levante’s goalkeeper made a fantastic save and this match ended in a 0-0 draw. Guardiola and Unal have both scored 6 goals for Valladolid this season. Ramirez, Porro, Fernades, and Caro are all injured and will not be in the lineup. Valladolid might not have been scoring a lot of goals, but their defense is solid this season, and that is what is holding Valladolid in LaLiga, at least for now.

Alaves haven’t been playing well since the restart and they have lost their last 4 games in a row. During this stretch, Alaves has conceded massive 11 goals, while scoring only 1 goal. Deportivo Alaves is still in serious danger of being relegated as they are in 16th place in the standings with 35 points, just 6 points above the relegation zone. Overall, not a great season for Alaves, and they have scored only 32 goals, which is an average of under 1 scored goal per game, while they conceded 50 goals so far. Lucas Perez has scored 11 goals and added 5 assists for Alaves so far, while Joselu added 10 goals. Pacheco is the only injured player for Alaves. In their latest LaLiga game against Granada at home, Alaves has had 55% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, and 73% of the correct passes. Alaves was a dominant team in this game, but their offense failed to use their chances, while their defense wasn’t able to stop Granada. Alaves has lost this game 0-2. I’m not confident that Alaves can end this slump because they are playing against some of the best teams in LaLiga, but they are still outside the relegation zone, and with a bit of luck, they might stay there.

Valladolid is in a slightly better form than Alaves, but their home record is 3-10-3, while Alaves has lost 3 straight games on the road. Both Valladolid and Alaves could use a win here to secure their LaLiga spot for next season, but I will side with Valladolid at home just because they are in a better form.
