The Canisius Golden Griffins and the Quinnipiac Bobcats meet Saturday in college basketball action from TD Bank Sports Center.

Canisius enters this one at 4-3 so far. As for Quinnipiac, they’re sitting at 5-8 this year. This will be a rematch of Friday’s game featuring these teams. In that one, Canisius took a seven-point win. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Canisius began their year with a 1-1 pair with Marist, then (after a few postponements) fell to Monmouth in their next pair. The Griffins then beat Saint Peter’s in a pair of games before taking the win over Quinnipiac on Friday (also after a few postponements).

In Friday’s 74-67 win over Quinnipiac, Canisius’ Jacco Fritz put up 18 points with nine rebounds and two assists. Ahamadou Fofana added 16 points with five assists and four rebounds, and Malek Green had 11 points with nine boards.

Over on the Quinnipiac side, they started out at 2-2 with wins over Fairleigh Dickinson and New Hampshire. The Bobcats went just 3-6 over their next nine games, falling to Manhattan, Monmouth, Niagara, Fairfield and then to Canisius on Friday.

In Friday’s loss, Quinnipiac’s leading scorer was Jacob Rigoni with 17 points, five rebounds and two assists. Savion Lewis had 16 points, five rebounds and three assists, while Tymu Chenery chipped in 10 points with three boards.

The Bobcats are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 5-2 ATS in the last seven Saturday games. The under is 5-1 in Quinnipiac’s last six Saturday games and 5-2 in their last seven at home versus a team with a losing road record.

Meanwhile, the Griffins are 1-4 ATS in their last five versus a team with a losing straight-up record and 30-12-1 ATS in the last 43 road games versus a team with a winning home record. The under is 14-6-1 in Canisius’ last 21 Saturday games and 4-1 in their last five overall.

PICK: I’m going with Quinnipiac in this one. The Bobcats had a commanding 34-21 lead at halftime in the Friday game, but fell apart in the second half by coughing up 53 points. Neither team shot all that well, and Quinnipiac coughed up 17 turnovers. If the Bobcats can turn in a cleaner game here I like them better on a cover.
