The Pacific Tigers and the Loyola Marymount Lions meet Saturday in college basketball action from Gersten Pavilion.

Pacific enters this game at 6-5 so far. The Tigers are 1-4 in their last five and coming off a win over Portland. As for Loyola Marymount, they’re 8-6 this year. The Lions are 2-2 in their last four and coming off a win over Portland as well. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Pacific’s season really didn’t get going until January 14 amid a flurry of cancellations. The Tigers were 3-1 then, and took out Santa Clara and LMU. Since then it’s been four straight losses to Pepperdine, Gonzaga and BYU, then a win over Portland on Thursday.

In the 84-57 win over Portland, Pacific’s Jeremiah Bailey put up 21 points with six rebounds to lead the team. Jordan Bell added 18 points with nine rebounds, and Broc Finstuen had 11 points with eight boards in 27 minutes on the floor.

Over on the Loyola Marymount side, their year began at 6-3 after a four-game win streak from December into January. Since then it’s been a 2-3 stretch for the Lions with losses to Pacific, Saint Mary’s and Santa Clara alongside wins over San Diego and Portland.

In the 75-50 win over Portland on January 25, LMU’s Mattias Markusson put up 25 points with 13 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Ivan Alipiev had 16 points with two rebounds, and Joe Quintana had 12 points with three rebounds and three assists.

LMU is 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine Saturday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall. The under is 4-0 in the Lions’ last four games versos a team with a winning straight-up record as well.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall. The over is 9-4 in Pacific’s last 13 Saturday games and the under is 7-3 in their last 10 on the road after three or more straight home games.

PICK: I’m going to take Pacific here. The last time these teams met up, the Tigers took a 58-49 win. Pacific shot 47.6 percent from the floor in that one and out-rebounded the Lions 30-24, but also coughed up 21 turnovers. If Pacific can get their act cleaned up in this one I like them in a cover.
