The Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Francisco Giants meet Tuesday in MLB action from Oracle Park. This will be the second installment in a three-game set between these teams this week. In the series opener on Monday, the Giants managed a three-run win. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Arizona played the Angels over the weekend and had no luck, losing all three games 6-5, 8-7 and 10-3. In the Monday opener versus the Giants, the Diamondbacks had six team hits in a 5-2 loss. Matt Peacock lasted 5.0 innings with 10 hits and three earned runs.

Alex Young will make a spot start for the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. He’s been in the bullpen so far this year, posting a 3.45 ERA with a 30:15 K:BB ratio in 28.2 innings.

Over on the Giants’ side, they played the Nationals in four games over the weekend and managed a split 2-2. In the Monday opener, San Francisco had the offense clicking with 14 hits. Alex Wood put up 6.0 innings with two earned on four hits.

For the Tuesday starting pitcher role, the Giants are sending out Zack Littell. Over his 18.1 innings of work this year, Littell has 12 hits, four runs (three earned), two homers allowed, six walks, 15 strikeouts and a 1.47 ERA.

The Diamondbacks are 13-41 in their last 54 road games and 1-7 in their last eight in game two of a series. The over is 7-2-1 in Arizona’s last 10 in game two of a series and 13-5 in their last 18 Tuesday games.

Meanwhile, the Giants are 4-1 in their last five Tuesday games and 14-5 in their last 19 versus a team with a winning percentage below .400. The over is 12-5 in San Francisco’s last 17 Tuesday games and 12-5-1 in the last 18 in game two of a series.

PICK: I’m probably going to stick with the Giants. This will be Littell’s second start as the Giants opener this year, and it’s looking like lefty Sammy Long will come in afterward and eat up most of the innings if all goes well. The Littell/Long combo posted five innings of one-run baseball with a single hit in the Wednesday game versus the Rangers. If they can come out like that again, the Giants should be in pretty good shape.
