Wimbledon: Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova vs. Ana Bogdan 6/30/21 Tennis Prediction
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova vs Ana Bogdan
June 30, 2021 12:00 am EDT
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (16) meets Ana Bogdan in the first round of the 2021 Championships on Wednesday, June 30th 2021.
Will Anastasia be able to go really far into a grand slam after putting on an amazing run in Paris earlier this month, or will Ana Bodgan come out here and cause the shocking upset on a surface which she has not prepared on yet?
Ana Bogdan needs to get used to the conditions on grass quickly if she wants to be competitive here at Wimbledon as she meets a very experienced opponent who will want to get some big wins under her belt. Ana is a strong player on her day, but we have not seen her day in a long time and she will have to find a very strong level. Bogdan will know that she has a tough road ahead, but in the WTA it is always easier to overcome challenges so she will believe in herself entering this match.
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova will want to continue her amazing grand slam form after making the final of the French open just earlier this month by getting a good and easy win under her belt early here in London. Anastasia knows more than anyone else that she can be at her best one week and at her worst the next, but I am sure she has been putting the work behind closed doors to ensure that she can get some easy wins under her belt early to save the energy for the business end of the tournament.
This is going to be the 2nd meeting between both players, with Anastasia having won their only prior encounter. It was a demolition the last time they met, and I think that Anastasia will get another win against her opponent, but it might be tight just because they are both not used to the surface just yet. Anastasia will still come out on top here, continue performing well at grand slams and continue rising up the rankings as she aims to make a late resurgence in her career legacy on the WTA Tour.
