Ninth seeded Argentine Diego Schwartzman will face unseeded Marton Fucsovics of Hungary in the Third Round of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. The match is scheduled to be played on Friday July 2nd, 2021.

A very interesting and exciting match is expected here between two seasoned veterans of the ATP Tour. Both men have very different styles of play and have been performing well so far here at Wimbledon. Who will get the win and advance to the Round of 16 for the first time?

Diego Schwartzman is currently ranked #11 in the world rankings and is the ninth seed here at the Wimbledon Championships. The Argentine is one of the best and most talented players in the world but tends to struggle on the quicker grass surface due to his small size. He has played well so far here, cruising past Benoit Paire in the First Round before defeating Liam Broady in four sets, yet another strong performance. He is yet to be truly tested here at Wimbledon, and Fucsovics is likely to do just that with his big serve and aggressive style. Schwartzman starts as the favorite due to his superior ranking, but this match will be closer than expected due to the surface.

Marton Fucsovics is unseeded here at Wimbledon and is ranked 48 in the ATP world rankings. The Hungarian #1 has also been impressive, defeating young prodigy Jannik Sinner in the First Round before his next opponent Jiri Vesely retired midway through their Second Round match. Despite being labelled as the underdog, his game style suits these courts well, and if he is playing to his best he will be able to overpower the small Argentine. Schwartzman is a very crafty player and may frustrate Fucsovics with his counterpunching, so he will have to be fully focused here.

This is a difficult match to predict. Schwartzman is the favorite on paper, but Fucsovics has turned heads with his playing here at Wimbledon and seems ready to make this competitive. I do think that this will go the distance and be an extremely close match, but in those situations you usually have to back the higher ranked player and the one with more big match experience. Schwartzman is the fitter of the two players, and the longer this match lasts the more his chances improve. Unless Fucsovics gets off to a quick start and blows him off the court quickly, which is unlikely, I am backing Diego Schwartzman to grind his way to a tough win here at Wimbledon.
