Watford and Liverpool face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at Vicarage Road. When these two teams last faced off in February of 2020, Watford came away with the 3-0 victory. 

Watford currently sits in 15th place in the standings having picked up seven points. The biggest issue for Watford this season has been with the inconsistency with the offense and over the last two games, they have scored only one goal total. Against Leeds United, Watford had only 33 percent of the possession and one shot on goal. Watford has scored seven goals this season while the defense has given up ten goals. Ismaila Sarr has been the best player for Watford scoring four goals. Emmanuel Dennis has also added two goals and an assist. 

On the other side of this matchup is Liverpool who currently sits in second place in the standings having picked up 15 points. Liverpool got out to a very fast start to the season, but they have played to draws in each of the last two games. In the last game against Manchester City, it was a 0-0 game at halftime, but there were four total goals scored after the 59th minute, and that led to the 2-2 draw. The last win was on September 18th against Crystal Palace. Liverpool has scored 17 goals while the defense has given up six goals. Mohamed Salah is the best player for Liverpool and he has scored six goals and added three assists. Sadio Mane has scored four goals and Diogo Jota has added another three. 

Watford’s defense has actually been decent, and I think they will find success again in this game. Look for Liverpool to struggle to get very few scoring chances, and that will lead to a lower-scoring game. Back the under 2.5 goals which sits around +140.
