The Los Angeles Clippers invade the Target Center to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles Clippers have yet to find their groove this season as they’ve lost four of their first six games overall, but they will be hoping to build some momentum after taking down the lowly Thunder in a 99-94 home win on Monday. Paul George led the team with 32 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, Reggie Jackson added 15 points while Nicolas Batum and Luke Kennard each scored 14 points. As a team, the Clippers shot just 38 percent from the field and 15 of 42 from the 3-point line as they scored just 14 points in the first quarter to fall behind by as many as 15 points, before rallying in the fourth quarter where they outscored the Thunder by 33-20 to escape with the much-needed win. Jackson had a rough night as he shot just five of 17 from the field while Terance Mann finished with just 10 points on four of 14 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost three of their last four games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting routed by the lowly Magic in a 115-97 home loss on Monday. Anthony Edwards led the team with 24 points on 10 of 22 shooting, Karl-Anthony Towns raked up 23 points with 16 rebounds and six assists while Malik Beasley chipped in with 11 points off the bench. As a team, the Timberwolves shot just 37 percent from the field and 14 of 51 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control after leading for most of the game, but they looked like a deer in the headlights in the fourth quarter where the Magic outscored them by 43-19 to make it a blowout loss in the end. Beasley had a rough night as he shot just four of 16 from the field while D’Angelo Russell scored just three points on one of eight shooting before spraining his ankle which rules him out for Wednesday.

Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a win and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Timberwolves are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, 0-4 ATS in their last four home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a loss of more than 10 points.

Head to head, the over is 7-0 in the last seven meetings in Minnesota, the Clippers are 13-6-1 ATS in the last 20 meetings in Minnesota and the Clippers are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.

D’Angelo Russell has already been ruled out of this one with an ankle injury while Patrick Beverley is listed as questionable, so the Timberwolves could again be severely shorthanded at the point position and we saw how that hurt them against the Magic on Monday. The Clippers have plenty of injuries of their own and they haven’t been able to build much momentum yet, so they will be eager to grab any win they can get at this point. It’s hard to bet on either team with much confidence with all the injuries, but George has been in great form for the Clippers and I think that could be the difference in a close one.
