LSU vs Belmont 11/22/2021 College Basketball Picks, Best Bets and Odds

The Belmont Bruins and the LSU Tigers meet Monday in college basketball action from Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Belmont is 3-1 on the year and coming off a win over Kennesaw State. Belmont had some trouble with Ohio in their opener. The Bruins ended up with a 92-80 loss to start the season on a sour note. In the next pair, Belmont bounced back with wins 81-43 over Evansville and 95-89 over Furman. 

In the Friday matchup against Kennesaw State, Belmont scored 48 points in the first half and 49 in the second during a nice 97-78 win. Nick Muszynski led the way on 25 points with six rebounds and two assists. 

Over on the LSU side, they destroyed LA-Monroe in their opener, cruising to a 101-39 blowout win. Two more big victories followed, 84-59 over Texas State and 74-58 over Liberty for a 3-0 start. 

In Thursday’s matchup against McNeese State, LSU notched yet another big win 85-46. The Tigers were up 43-16 at halftime and kept the heat on from there. Tari Eason left the floor with 19 points, 14 rebounds and one assist. 

The Tigers are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 overall and 8-0-1 ATS in their last nine at home. LSU is 7-1 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up win. 

Meanwhile, the Bruins are 16-6-2 ATS in their last 24 after an ATS win and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine overall. Belmont is 5-0-2 ATS in their last seven Monday games. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Belmont, but I’m hoping the line will thicken up a bit. In any case, the Tigers shot a cool 44.6 percent against McNeese with 50 rebounds, 17 steals and 17 assists. It was a dominant effort from front to back. It’s going to be difficult for Belmont to keep up here, but they’ve been scoring well so far so the Bruins have a legitimate shot. It’ll be tough getting past the LSU defense, though.
