The Milwaukee Panthers and the Green Bay Phoenix meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Resch Center. Milwaukee is currently 4-9 this year. The Panthers beat Northern Kentucky in their last game. As for Green Bay, they’re 2-11 and fresh off a loss to Wright State. Milwaukee went on a 2-8 run to begin the year, finding wins against only North Dakota and Robert Morris. The Panthers are 2-1 in their last three with a loss to Wright State between wins over Saint Xavier and Northern Kentucky.

In the Northern Kentucky game on January 1, the Panthers had a 37-23 deficit at halftime. Milwaukee surged from there on a 38-18 run for a 61-55 victory. Both DeAndre Gholston and Vin Baker scored 14 points apiece, combining for eight rebounds as well.

Over on the Green Bay side, they managed just two wins over WI-Superior and Robert Morris in their first nine games. Since then it’s been losses to Youngstown State, UMKC, Kansas State, Minnesota, Northern Kentucky and Wright State.

On January 1 versus Wright State, the Phoenix were down 38-32 heading into halftime. Green Bay made a game of it in the second half but still lost 72-69. Lucas Stieber was the team’s top scorer on 22 points and three rebounds.

The over is 7-2 in the Phoenix’s last nine home games and they’re 2-0-2 ATS in their last four overall. Green Bay is 1-4 ATS in their last five at home.

Meanwhile, the Panthers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games. Milwaukee is 4-1 ATS in their last five overall.

PICK: I’m going with Milwaukee. There’s not a lot to like here though, so I’m probably staying away. In any case, the Panthers have certainly had their offensive issues this year but they’re looking better over the last three games. Milwaukee has hit 74 or more points in two of those, and they’ve held opponents to 55 or fewer in two as well. I don’t see Green Bay posing a huge offensive threat, so Milwaukee seems a more logical cover/win choice.
