The Tulsa Golden Hurricane will travel to the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse to take on the Tulane Green Wave this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane lost their 6th straight game and dropped to 6-11 on the season after being defeated by the Memphis Tigers, 83-81, this past Sunday. Tulsa led by a 46-33 margin at halftime, however, the Golden Hurricane has no answers defensively for Memphis in the 2nd half and the Tigers were able to take the lead for good after a Tyler Harris three-pointer gave the Tigers an 82-76 lead with 2:28 left in regulation. Tulsa shot 48.9% from the field & 50.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Memphis to shoot 50.9% from the field & 43.5% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Golden Hurricane was Jeriah Horne who had 19 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, & 1 steal.

On the season, Tulsa is averaging 68.9 ppg on 43.6% shooting from the field. The Golden Hurricane are averaging 7.0 three-pointers per game on 35.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Tulsa has been led by Jeriah Horne (17.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.5 spg), Sam Griffin (15.5 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.3 spg), Darien Jackson (9.1 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.2 spg), & Anthony Pritchard (4.1 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, Tulsa is allowing their opponents to an average of 69.6 ppg on 45.4% shooting from the field. The Golden Hurricane have a rebound margin of -2.9 and a turnover margin of 3.8.

The Tulane Green Wave lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 7-9 on the season after being defeated by the UCF Knights, 68-66, this past Saturday. Tulane led by a 55-42 margin midway through the 2nd half, however, the Green Wave struggled offensively down the stretch and UCF was able to take the lead for good after a Cheikh Mbacke Diong dunk gave the Knights a 65-63 lead with just :51 seconds left in regulation. Tulane shot 44.1% from the field & 20.0% from beyond the arc while allowing UCF to shoot 38.3% from the field & 35.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Green Wave was Jaylen Forbes who had 17 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, & 3 steals.

On the season, Tulane is averaging 71.9 ppg on 43.9% shooting from the field. The Green Wave are averaging 7.7 three-pointers per game on 35.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Tulane has been led by Jalen Cook (19.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.5 apg, 1.1 spg), Jaylen Forbes (15.1 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.3 spg), Kevin Cross (13.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.1 spg), & Sion James (7.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.8 spg).

The Golden Hurricane are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road game vs. Tulane & 12-5 ATS in their last 17 January games. The Green Wave are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games, however, are just 3-4 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Tulsa has down a good job in creating turnovers as the Golden Hurricane come into this game ranked 29th in turnover margin, however, the Golden Hurricane have overall struggled on both end of the court as they come into this game ranked 241st in scoring offense, t-196th in scoring defense, & t-301st in defensive FG%. Tulane has been led by their offense which ranks 176th in scoring offense & 114th in 3P-FG%, however, the defense has struggled and currently rank just 258th in scoring defense & 342nd in rebound margin.

Tulsa has lost 9 of their last 11 games and it’s been a struggle on the road as the Golden Hurricane come into this game with an 0-4 road record which includes a 21-point loss at Cincinnati last week. Tulane is a better team than their record indicates and as I think their offense has plenty of success against Tulsa on their home court, I’m taking Tulane to pull away in the 2nd half and cover this small home spread. Good Luck!
