Liverpool and Leeds United face off on Wednesday in an English Premier League showdown at Anfield. When these two teams faced off in September of 2021 it was Liverpool that won 3-0. 

Liverpool currently sits in 2nd place in the standings having picked up 57 points. Liverpool has had an impressive season, and they have been playing well coming into this game. In the last game against Norwich City, they fell behind 1-0, but it was three goals after the 64th minute that led them to the victory. Liverpool has scored 64 goals total while their defense has given up 20 goals total. Mohamed Salah has been the top player all season scoring 17 goals and adding nine assists. Dojo Jota has also scored 12 goals and added an assist. 

On the other side of this matchup is Leeds United who sits in 15th place in the standings having picked up 23 points. Leeds United is struggling coming into this game having lost two in a row. Over the last two games Leeds has given up seven goals total. In the last game against Manchester United, they scored two goals, but it wasn’t enough as the defense gave up four goals. Leeds has scored 29 goals total while their defense has given up 50 goals total. Raphael Dias Belloli has been the top player for Leeds scoring nine goals and adding two assists. There are four players who have scored at least three goals. 

There will be plenty of scoring by both teams in this game. Leeds United has been giving up plenty of goals each of the last two games, but I think they will find a way to score a goal or two against this Liverpool defense. I expect four or five goals and there is some plus money with the over in this one.
