PSG is hosting Saint-Etienne at Parc des Princes in round 26 of the French Ligue 1. PSG has been dominant in Ligue 1, they are still at the top, but they are now focused on the Champions League. Saint-Etienne has been playing well as of late, they have been involved in some high-scoring games, and their form is on the rise.
PSG has 13 points advantage over Marseille right now, and they will win another title in Ligue 1. In the Champions League, PSG has beaten Real Madrid in the first leg, but only 1-0, and they will need at least one more goal on the road if they want to be somewhat safe. Mbappe is still the best player for PSG in the Ligue 1 this season with 13 goals and 10 assists, but he might be rested in this game. Messi has added 8 assists. There are some injuries and suspensions in PSG as of right now. PSG doesn’t have to worry about Ligue 1, but their Champions League game against Real Madrid will be tough, and they will need to be at the top of their game. I think PSG certainly has the quality to win this game, but we will see if their defense will hold.
Saint-Etienne has escaped the relegation zone, at least for now, and they are now in 16th place with 22 points. Even their offense has improved a lot, and their form with it too. Defensively, Saint-Etienne is still not great, and they have conceded 47 goals so far this season. Khazri is the leading goalscorer for Saint-Etienne with 9 goals, but there isn’t much quality besides him in this team. There are also a lot of injuries in Saint-Etienne, and unfortunately, Khazri might be one of the injured players. In their last 4 Ligue 1 games, Saint-Etienne has 3 wins and a draw, and if they can get a few more points, it might be enough for them to stay in the league. There has been a lot of problem in Saint-Etienne this season, but they have improved a lot, and I think they are good enough to stay in the league.
PSG has been dominant in this matchup, but they definitely don’t deserve to be such massive favorites. PSG might rest some players here because of that Champions League game, and I think Saint-Etienne might do well because of it.
