The Toronto Raptors and the Chicago Bulls duke it out at the United Center on Monday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in great shape as they’ve won six of their last seven games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after sneaking past the 76ers in a 93-88 road win last night. Pascal Siakam led the team with 26 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, Precious Achiuwa added 21 points with nine rebounds while Scottie Barnes chipped in with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Raptors shot just 37 percent from the field and seven of 26 from the 3-point line, but this win was all about their defense as they held the 76ers to just 17 points in the second quarter to erase an early 16-point deficit and they were stingy again in the fourth quarter as they held the 76ers to just four points in the final 4:33 to escape with the win in the end.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in a major slump as they’ve lost eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a three-game slide after getting blown out by the Suns in a 129-102 road loss on Friday. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 19 points, Nikola Vucevic added 16 points while Coby White chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Bulls shot just 41 percent from the field and seven of 27 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep pace with the Suns right from the start and trailed by 13 points at halftime, and things only got worse in the second half where the deficit ballooned to 33 points at one stage.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team above .600 and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Bulls are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 home games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games playing on two days’ rest and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-0 in the last five meetings in Chicago, the Raptors are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Chicago and the Raptors are 8-21 ATS in the last 29 meetings overall.
The Raptors will again be without OG Anunoby, Malachi Flynn and Fred VanVleet, while the Bulls are still missing Lonzo Ball who is without a timetable for his return. The Raptors have been playing some of their best basketball of the season and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from last night’s win over the red-hot 76ers, while the Bulls have really struggled lately and just got blown out by the Suns in their last outing. The Raptors are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games and I think they keep that streak going with an upset in this spot.
