Brighton is hosting West Ham at American Express Community Stadium in round 38 of the English Premier League. Brighton is safe from the relegation but far from Europe but seeing how inefficient they have been with scoring goals, this is a success for them. West Ham still has the chance to qualify for Europe, but only if they win here, and if United losses in their game.

Brighton has been solid this season, more so on the defensive end than the attacking end, but overall, a very good team. Brighton has scored only 39 goals so far this season, and Trossard and Maupay are their leading goalscorers with 8 goals each. Brighton is a tough nut to crack, and their defense is one of the best in the league, but they have nothing to play for here, and that might make them relax a bit. There are only a couple of injuries in Brighton as of right now. Brighton is not the type of team that will spend money to sign a superstar player, but they make do with what they have, and they are pretty much always somewhere in the middle of the table.

West Ham hasn’t had the best second half of the season, but they reached the Europa League semifinals, and that is their biggest success in Europe. Even though West Ham is out of the Europa League zone in the EPL, they could still qualify for it with a win here. West Ham is now in 7th place with 56 points, which is 2 points less than Manchester United. On both ends, West Ham has been solid, but their offense was not as efficient in the second half of the season as it was in the first. Bowen has been one of the best players in the EPL this season, and he was definitely West Ham’s best player with 12 goals and 10 assists. Ogbonna and Diop are both injured. West Ham has a solid chance at qualifying for Europe, but at the worst, they will be playing in the Conference League, which is not bad. West Ham has had a solid season overall, but I’m sure they are sorry for that Europa League run, and not finishing it.

When playing at home, Brighton hasn’t lost to West Ham in their last 4 games. It’s always tough to make a decision when one of the teams doesn’t need anything here, but I gotta side with West Ham here. I think West Ham has a bit more offense, and they are back on the winning track.
