Sweden vs. Slovenia 9/27/22 Nations League Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Sweden and Slovenia face off on Tuesday in a League B Group 4 UEFA Nations League game at Friends Arena. When these two teams faced off on June 2nd it was Sweden that secured the 2-0 victory. 

Slovenia comes into this game sitting in 3rd place in the group, having picked up five points. On Saturday, Slovenia faced off against Norway, and they scored two goals on the way to the victory. In the 47th minute they gave up the first goal, but goals in the 69th and 81st minute were the difference as they secured the win. They had 41 percent of the possession and four shots on goal, but that led to the victory. Jasmin Kurtic and Andraz Sporar both picked up yellow cards in the last game, and that means they will be suspended in this game. Domen Crnigoj and Sandi Lovric could both move into the starting lineup in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Sweden, who sits in 4th place in the standings having picked up three points. Sweden’s last game came against Serbia, and they didn’t look very good in that game. The defense really struggled, giving up four goals and the offense could only manage one on the way to the defeat. Sweden had 47 percent of the possession and four shots on target. Sweden actually scored the first goal in the 15th minute, but the defense let down big time after that. Sweden is expected to move Viktor Gyokeres into the starting lineup, and he’s going to need to be good here. Filip Helander, Carl Starfelt and Alexander Milosevic are also all unavailable right now. 

Sweden has found success scoring, but their defense has some holes, and that is going to be an issue again in this game. Look for Sweden to score a couple of goals, but they also give up a few goals to Slovenia also. I expect both teams to score at least two goals, and the over 3.5 is going to cash here.
