The New York Giants and Chicago Bears clash Sunday in a week 4 NFL contest from MetLife Stadium. Chicago is sitting at 2-1 so far and coming off a three-point win over the Texans. As for New York, they just finished up a Monday night game versus the Cowboys. In that one the Giants took a seven-point loss. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.
Chicago kicked off their year on a high note, storming back in the second half versus the 49ers in a 19-10 win. Game two against the rival Packers didn’t go so well for the Bears. Chicago gave up 21 points in the second quarter alone on the way to a 27-10 loss.
Chicago played the Texans last weekend and posted their second victory of the year in a very tight game. The Bears notched 10 points in the second half during a 23-20 win. QB Justin Fields had 106 yards and two picks, while Khalil Herbert added 157 yards and two scores rushing.
Over on the Giants’ side, they opened up the year with a couple of very close victories. The first one came in the opener versus the Titans 21-20. In game two New York played Carolina, eventually eking out a 19-16 victory.
On Monday versus the Cowboys, New York was outscored 10-3 in the fourth quarter during a 23-16 loss. QB Daniel Jones put up 196 yards with a pick, and Saquon Barkley managed 81 yards and a score on 14 carries. Sterling Shepard had five catches for 49 yards.
The Bears are 5-2 ATS in the last seven in week four and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 in October. Chicago is 5-15 ATS in their last 20 versus the NFC.
Meanwhile, the Giants are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 in week four and 10-22-1 ATS in the last 33 at home. The Giants are 1-5 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
PICK: I’m probably going to take a stab on the Bears. This should be another close, relatively low-scoring game, and Chicago certainly has some things to clean up. The Bears posted just 82 passing yards and two interceptions versus the Texans, but they did a solid job on defense and the running game was great with 281 yards.
As for the Giants, they had a rough fourth quarter in the rivalry game against the Giants on Monday. New York went just 3-of-11 on third down and had seven penalties but overall the offense had some promising moments in a tight game. This should prove to be another good matchup.
