Georgia Southern vs Florida Gulf Coast 11/30/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

Florida Gulf Coast went 2-2 over their first four games this year, beating USC and Ave Maria while falling otherwise to San Diego and Tennessee. After that came wins over Northern Kentucky and Drexel. 

The Eagles kept their win streak going last Wednesday versus UMKC. Florida Gulf Coast took a 36-23 lead into the locker room and held on for the 73-59 win. Zach Anderson doubled up with 15 points and 10 boards, while Isaiah Thompson put up 14 points. 

Over on the Georgia Southern side, they went 1-3 over their first four games this year, taking losses to San Jose State, Santa Clara and Rice. The Eagles bounced back with wins over Houston Baptist and Western Michigan. 

In the Saturday game versus Oglethorpe, the Eagles stormed to a 59-36 edge in the first half and ended up with a 101-73 blowout win. Carlos Curry doubled up on 30 points and 15 boards, while Kamari Brown added 20 points. 

PICK: I’m going to try Florida Gulf Coast in this one. We should have a pretty good matchup if both teams are playing well, though. Florida Gulf Coast has scored pretty well this year; they’ve got 73 or more points in five of their seven games. FGCU is coming off a pretty solid performance versus UMKC as well. 

As for Georgia Southern, I like them to stick around in this one. They’ve hit 71 or more points in three of their last four games, so they can score when the matchup is right. I don’t think Georgia Southern will keep the pace up long enough to cover, though.
