Mauritius Open
December 14, 2022 9:20 pm EDT
This week, the DP World Tour presents the golf betting community with the Mauritius Open.
Before I discuss my favorite golf bet for the Mauritius Open let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a player’s success this week.
The Mauritius Open will be played at the Mont Choisy Le Golf in Grand Baie, Mauritius. This golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,051 yards. This track will present this week’s field with five par fives and eight par fours. It should be noted that this will be the first year that the Monte Choisy Le Golf has hosted the Mauritius Open.
The key player statistics I will be focusing on for this event are GIR (greens in regulation), strokes gained ball striking, and strokes gained around the green.
Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the the top five.
Oliver Bekker +450
Oliver Bekker has accumulated two top 13 finishes in his last three events played on the DP World Tour, including a fourth place result at last week’s Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Due to the fact that Bekker played so well at last week’s tournament I decided to take a hard look at his player statistics for the event relative to the field.
After four rounds of competitive golf played at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, relative to the field of 156 golfers, Bekker ranked fourth in strokes gained approach, 11th in GIR (greens in regulation), and fifth in strokes gained tee to green.
I also like the fact Oliver Bekker has played well at this tournament previously. Bekker finished eighth at the 2018 Mauritius Open.
